Ofsted Inspection Success!
We were inspected by Ofsted on 15th & 16th November, and the Report has just been published! It's here. The Report confirms that Grangetown continues to be a Good school.
The purpose of this inspection was to confirm whether the school remains Good under the definition of overall effectiveness as set out in Ofsted’s ‘School Inspection Handbook’. The Inspection evaluated the school across a range of key areas of provision. The Report is extremely positive and praiseworthy about all aspects of school life at Grangetown, including:
- Pupil happiness, well-being and safety / Pupil behaviour & attitudes to learning, & their wider development
- Leadership at all levels
- Curriculum leadership, development, implementation and impact / Phonics and Reading / Mathematics
- Early Years Foundation Stage
- Special Educational Needs / Safeguarding
- Staff well-being, support and professional development
We are all delighted with the outcome, and I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of all members of our school community.
We are extremely proud of the children. You can read in the Report just how impressed Ofsted were with the children’s fantastic behaviour and their positive attitudes to learning. We’d like to thank and congratulate the children, and we are now discussing some special ways that we can reward the children on their success!
As Headteacher, I am very proud of our staff, and I know you will join me on saying a huge ‘Well Done and Thankyou’ to the GPS team. Every member of staff has worked incredibly hard to improve and develop the school, demonstrating huge commitment and dedication. Our staff are talented, highly-skilled, very caring and they always ‘go the extra mile’. Our Ofsted success is a real team effort!
We’d also like to say a big thankyou to parents and carers, for the way you support your children every day, and the positive way you engage with school – family learning, parent workshops, parent-teacher consultation days, plus the work of our Friends group, etc. You are all an important part of Team GPS!
Thanks also are due to our excellent team of Governors - they have played an important part in the on-going development of the school, and have consistently provided strong and knowledgeable support.
We intend to build upon this Report, maintaining what we do well and improving and developing the school even further. We look forward to working with parents/carers as we move forward.
Mr L McAnaney, Headteacher
