On Thursday
the 7th of July, we held our school sports day.
The day
was split into two - Foundation and Key Stage 1’s activities on the
morning and Key Stage 2’s on the afternoon.
The children had to work
their way around 10 activities, including the egg and spoon race,
dressing up, running, skipping and the hoop race.
Foundation and
Key Stage 1 completed each activity and children were given a
sticker with the number of points they had gained. In the afternoon
Key Stage 2 completed the same activities but were given a token
with the number of points they had gained - they then had to take
this and put it into their house group’s basket. Unfortunately the
weather wasn’t on our side that afternoon; this meant we had to cut
short some of the activities including the Relay and the Teachers
Race.
We managed to count the points collected so far and the
winning team was announced. Red group were presented with the
trophy, which is now displayed in the Library. Everyone was also
presented with a winner’s medal for taking part.
Thankyou to
everyone who came to support the event in particular the Parents
group who provided refreshments. Hope to see you next year for an
even better day (fingers crossed for sunshine!) |
