We are re-designing
our school logo! The children are currently submitting their
designs, based around the aspirational theme of 'Reach for
the Stars'.
We've chose this theme because, at Grangetown, we believe
that everyone can achieve. Education - and an aspirational,
'can-do' mindset - are the keys which unlock our dreams! At
this school we all 'aim high'.
Interestingly, we have recently discovered a local-link
which ties in perfectly with our reach for the stars theme.
Close to the school, in Backhouse Park, the designs on the
surface of the play area are based on the moon and the
stars. This commemorates local dignitary Thomas W Backhouse,
who lived in West Hendon House on the edge of the park in
the late 19th and early 20th century, and was a well known astronomer in
his day. Learn more about him
