Every Friday afternoon, two
girls called Amy and Claire, from Sunderland University, come into
school to work with year 6.
We have to warm up our muscles so that
we don’t pull or strain them. We do races, stretches and physical
challenges.
Then we practiice our dance routines. We dance to pop,
street dance, and to relaxed music. At the end, we cool down with
more stretches and the Mexican Wave!
We are looking forward to going
to the Empire Theatre on Thursday 24 June to perform our dance to
the song Pencil Full of Lead. There will be lots of other schools
there. This is a very special event – the Sunderland Dance Festival.
When we go to the Empire our classes have the chance to come and
watch us for the small price of just £3.00 a ticket. Our parents can
also come along, with their tickets costing £5.50. Sadly our dance
teachers are going on holiday when we do our performance so they
won’t be there to cheer us on.
We have all enjoyed the dance this
term, and we can’t wait for the nest session after the half-term
holiday. By Emily Cobb and Sophie Daymond, Class 6AM.
