Recently, our Drama
group and some of our staff went down to Manchester to
support Mrs Davies our Drama teacher. She is part of a
singing group ‘Purple’ and they had auditions for the X
Factor!!
It was so exciting! We were all dressed in purple and
carried a fabulous Grangetown Banner. After an early 8
o’clock start and a 3-hour journey, we arrived at the hotel
to pick up Mrs Davies, Jen and Emily. On the way to the G-Mex
however, the bus broke down! But we didn’t let that stop us
– we just grabbed our bags and started to walk.
When we arrived, it was a fantastic atmosphere with lots of
contestants waiting to audition. The children were very
patient as we waited in line. We were filmed many times –
waiting in line, walking along corridors, chanting PURPLE,
while the group were on stage and afterwards in the pod.
Purple were brilliant in their audition. We got to stand in
the wings while Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon
Cowell gave their opinions.
The highlight of the day was when we all met Dermot O’Leary
who was really funny and gave us all ‘five’ when the group
were finished singing. We had a fabulous day. Well done
Purple! |
