A group of 8 of our ex-pupils, now in Year 10 at Southmoor, recently did their 'work experience' placements at Grangetown. It was a pleasure to play host to the students - they did a superb job, proving themselves to be mature and hard working - and they always had a smile ready for our children and teachers.

Below, they have written about their experience at Grangetown:

They all wrote:
"We were all pupils at Grangetown 5 years ago and it was nice for all of us to return to Grangetown as part of the staff. We have enjoyed all aspects of the placement; from backing boards and laminating to getting to know the children and helping them to learn. We would like to say thank you to all the staff and pupils at grangetown for this amazing experience and making us feel welcome."

Kayleigh Appleton wrote: "This experience has been amazing and I will never forget it, I have gained new skills which will help me with future jobs. I think these 2 past weeks have made me more mature and aware of the working environments and finalised my decision on wanting to be a teacher myself when I’m older. I have enjoyed every minute of being at Grangetown. Thank you very much."

Helen Burnip wrote: ‘I have really enjoyed my week at works experience; I couldn’t have picked a better place to go. It has been great working with the children and staff and I have got along very well with them all. They are all friendly and make you feel welcome. Thank you for giving me this opportunity."
