Year 6 Sculpture Trail!

Sculpture Trail

The Y6 children ended their ‘Sea Less Plastic’ project by taking part in a sculpture trail at Roker Park and Roker Beach.

Firstly, they made a pledge about how they would try to make sure less plastic ended up in the sea. They then followed a trail around the park and along the sea front to see sculptures made from waste plastic by children from several schools.

They saw jellyfish sculptures, fish sculptures, a shark, a turtle and our own whale which we made from plastic bags and netting. Next to each sculpture there were information boards and the children had to answer questions using that information.

Even though it rained all afternoon, the children enjoyed it, and they even had time for a delicious ice cream!
