Signed, sealed, delivered!

Signed, sealed...

As part of our topic, Year 1 walked to the post box to post a letter.

We posted the letter to ourselves at school, so we had to make sure we had the correct address on the envelope for our school as well as a 1st class stamp.

Before we left we all made a prediction about what day we thought the letter would arrive back and we made sure the office staff would look out for our letter coming back to us with the postman!

The letter was dropped into the post box at 1.30pm and we read all of the information on the front of the box that explained it would be collected at 5.30pm that day.  Even though this time of year must be very busy for Royal Mail our letter was delivered back to school at 9.30am the following day, less than 24 hours!

We looked closely at the ink marks on the front and the stamp said that our letter had been in the sorting office at 7.30pm being organised for delivery.

The children really enjoyed this experience and have been busy writing letters in our Post Office role play area ever since!
