It's Anti-Bullying Week at GPS!

Anti Bullying

Recently, we took part in Anti-Bullying Week, held nationally every year.

During the week, the children took part in special assemblies led by Mr McAnaney and Ms Cole as well as activities and discussions in class.

Sharon and Emma, our ‘Magic Listeners’ from IMPACT North East, led two workshops in which they explored the different types of bullying. As a result of one such workshop, a group of Year 5 pupils formed their own ‘Bully Busters’ group. They will be supported by school staff in looking at ways in which they can help children across school continue to understand what bullying is as how to report any issues.

This year school is also, once again, taking part in the Anti-Bullying Poster competition with IMPACT NE. Entries, all of which are of a very high standard, have been received for Sharon and her team to look through. The work undertaken during the week complemented our ongoing work across school.
