#HelloYellow!

Hello Yellow

Here at GPS we think that mental health and well-being is are vital. Staff and children took part in World Mental Health Day to raise awareness of the importance of this issue, particularly in young people.

We were invited by our Counsellors from IMPACT North East to join in with the ‘Young Minds’ campaign ‘Hello Yellow’. This involved wearing an item of yellow clothing for a small donation. The school was awash with brightly coloured t-shirts, socks, hair ribbons etc and it certainly brightened up our day.

Sharon, Jenny and Rachel, our Magic Listeners from IMPACT led assembly. Sharon reminded children that sometimes we may feel a bit sad or we may notice our friends feeling sad. She reminded us all how to look after one another and be a good friend to try to help.

As well as reminding us about this important message, the school also raised £111.20 which will be shared between ‘Young Minds’ and the Sunderland Young People’s Mental Health Group. Thank you once again for your support and kind contributions.
