Katie & Daisy (both year 6) write:

On Monday the 17th March Chris Connaugton came to Grangetown to work with year 6. In the morning he acted out a play, which was similar to Kensukie’s Kingdom, but he cleverly acted two plays at the same time. The play was about a man who wanted to get home from Tokyo to see his daughter do a school play but he was stranded in the airport after all the flights were cancelled. The other play was about Robinson Crusoe, stranded on a desert island for 25 years.

After break we asked him lots of questions about himself and his career, then we went back to the classroom to write a diary entry as Robinson Crusoe after he was washed up on shore after a terrible storm. Then we had lunch. After lunch we drew a map of the desert island that he got stranded on. Finally we wrote a letter. We had to imagine we were stranded on a desert island and we were writing to our family, telling them we were safe and that we hoped to be home soon.
